Following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia, Shakira visited Quibdó to learn about the needs of the educational communities. The artist toured some of the damaged schools and met with students and local authorities.
As part of this initiative, $1.25 million will be allocated for school repairs, while the Howard Buffett Foundation will support the reconstruction of 10 additional schools. The Barefoot Foundation will also participate in coordinating the work.
